International Institute of Technology (IIT) – ICTU Holds Placement English Proficiency Test for K25 Freshmen

On September 7 and 8, 2026, the Institute of International Training (IIT) at the University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU) organized an English proficiency assessment for all incoming K25 freshmen.

The exam comprehensively evaluated four core language skills—Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing—to accurately and objectively measure students’ language proficiency as they begin their university journey.

According to the Institute’s academic regulations, achieving a minimum B1 level (under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – CEFR) is required for freshmen to directly enroll in their specialized major courses.

• For students reaching B1 level or higher: They fully qualify to begin their official major coursework immediately.
• For students who have not yet reached the B1 level: They will be enrolled in a one-year preparatory English program. This curriculum is structured to reinforce foundational knowledge and develop balanced language skills, helping students quickly enhance their language proficiency to prepare for upcoming major courses in subsequent years.

The assessment was conducted smoothly, securely, and in full compliance with examination regulations. This serves as a vital step for the International Institute of Technology to assess student proficiency levels, build tailored teaching roadmaps, and maintain international output standards for the K25 cohort.
