[NEWS] ICTU Students Gain International Insights from Kyungpook National University Professor

ICTU News – As part of its international academic cooperation program, the International Training Institute (IIT) at the University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU) successfully hosted a special lecture series from June 24th to June 26th, 2026. Professor Kyong Hoon Kim from Kyungpook National University (KNU), South Korea, visited the campus to directly teach the “Computational Thinking and Software Development” module.

The intensive course was exclusively designed for students of the KTPM KNU K24 class (Software Engineering joint program with KNU). This initiative offered ICTU students a valuable opportunity to learn, interact, and gain direct access to world-class technological knowledge from one of South Korea’s leading experts.

An International Classroom Experience at ICTU

Over three days of highly productive and engaging sessions, Professor Kyong Hoon Kim delivered in-depth, cutting-edge knowledge on Computational Thinking—the core foundation that helps students build methodology and tackle complex programming challenges. In addition, modern software development models and processes currently utilized by global tech giants were thoroughly analyzed through hands-on, practical exercises.

Moving far beyond traditional theory, the classroom atmosphere was consistently vibrant with open discussions. Students of KTPM KNU K24 confidently demonstrated their English proficiency, critical thinking, and teamwork skills as they directly debated and pitched their project ideas to the Professor.

A representative from the International Training Institute (IIT) shared: “Inviting professors and experts from prestigious overseas partner universities like KNU to teach on-site is part of our ongoing commitment to providing a truly international learning environment for our students. This not only elevates their academic expertise but also helps them cultivate a global mindset and professional work ethic while still at university.”

Ready to Step into the Global Arena

As the lecture series concluded, the KTPM KNU K24 students expressed great enthusiasm and renewed confidence. Learning from a top-tier Korean expert has given them a major boost, inspiring them on their journey to becoming high-quality software engineers in the future.

This event once again reaffirms the academic reputation and quality of the International Training Institute (IIT) and ICTU as a whole. It highlights the university’s dedication to expanding global partnerships, continuously enhancing the student experience, and opening up limitless career opportunities for its graduates.
