JOURNEY TO THE GRAND OCEAN: NGUYEN VAN AN AND NGUYEN DUC MANH EXCELLENTLY COMPLETE THEIR EXCHANGE SEMESTER AT KYUNGPOOK NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (SOUTH KOREA)
Recently, two students, Nguyen Van An and Nguyen Duc Minh from the K23 KNU Software Engineering class—an international joint program at the University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU)—officially concluded their exchange semester at Kyungpook National University (KNU), South Korea, and returned to Vietnam to complete their training curriculum.
Extending Pride with Thousand-Dollar Scholarships
Previously, after surpassing a rigorous selection process with high requirements for both academic performance and English proficiency, Van An and Duc Manh outstandingly secured full-tuition international exchange scholarships worth $2,667 for one semester at KNU.
Their journey from the lecture halls of Thai Nguyen to one of South Korea’s leading national universities is not only a matter of personal pride but also a continuation of the impressive track record of ICTU students on the global academic map. This follows the inspiring example of their senior, Nguyen Minh Hieu (K21 cohort), who won a 3-million-won scholarship at KNU in 2024.
Growing in an International Academic Environment
From March to June 2026, the two young men from the Institute of International Training (IIT) had the opportunity to experience and study in an advanced, modern educational environment in the Land of the Morning Calm. In addition to acquiring in-depth specialized knowledge in Software Engineering, they participated in multinational cultural exchange activities, broadening their worldviews and honing their soft skills in the context of global integration.
Upon returning to ICTU, all of their academic results from South Korea will be fully recognized as equivalent within their training curriculum. This serves as a solid stepping stone and a breakthrough source of energy for An and Manh to complete the next phase of the joint program.
The 3+1 Joint Model: A Launchpad for Global Citizens
The joint Bachelor’s program in Software Engineering between ICTU and Kyungpook National University (KNU) is designed under an advanced 3+1 model, taught entirely in English. After four years of study, students stand a chance to obtain dual international degrees of global value, while also being eligible to transition directly into a Master’s pathway with a shortened, optimized timeframe of just one year.
The success of Nguyen Van An and Nguyen Duc Manh once again reaffirms the continuous guidance, companionship, and networking efforts of the Institute of International Training (IIT). IIT commits to remaining a pioneer in paving the way, delivering standard academic pathways and an expansive global partner network to help ICTU students step confidently into the international working environment.
Congratulations to Van An and Duc Manh on excellently completing their youthful journey in South Korea! We hope these invaluable experiences will further motivate both of you to shine even brighter in your upcoming academic journey back home.
