IIT Joins University Delegation in China: Exploring Globalized Training Models for Practical E-Commerce Program Development

As part of a business trip to China by the University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU), Dr. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong – Director of the Institute of International Training (IIT) – joined a strategic working delegation to Guangxi Province. The trip has opened up numerous opportunities for practical training cooperation, promising high-quality academic programs for the Institute’s students.

On June 28, the ICTU delegation, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phung Trung Nghia – President of the University, along with the special attendance of Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang – Deputy Director of the Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade, held a working session with Jin’an Company in Nanning City, Guangxi Province.

Exploring the Leading “Taobao Village” Model in Guangxi

Established in 2013, Jin’an Company is a pioneer in successfully implementing and operating the “Taobao Village” model in Guangxi Province, and is currently one of the leading e-commerce enterprises in China. The company operates comprehensively across various sectors, including warehousing and fulfillment services, logistics, specialized e-commerce training, and the digital economy.

During the working session, Dr. Nguyen Thi Mai Phuong and the delegation toured the headquarters and directly surveyed the company’s real-world operational processes. Representatives from Jin’an Company openly shared insights into digital marketing practices, supply chain optimization, cross-border e-commerce platform operations, and methodologies for developing experimental e-commerce projects.

Opportunities for Hands-on Training Programs for Students and Faculty

With the goal of delivering practical educational value aligned with market demands, leaders from both the University and the Institute of International Training proactively proposed core areas for cooperation. Accordingly, the parties aim to design and develop intensive, hands-on training and professional development courses in practical e-commerce.

This will be a tremendous opportunity for faculty members and especially students within the Institute’s economics, languages, and technology sectors to gain direct exposure to international-standard logistics management, digital marketing, and live-stream studio operations.

Furthermore, under the guidance of the leadership from the Thai Nguyen Department of Industry and Trade, the parties laid the foundation for future research to apply e-commerce service models and agricultural digitalization within Thai Nguyen Province.

Advancing the Philosophy of “Real Learning – Real Doing”

The business trip and working session with Jin’an Company represent a practical step forward in expanding international cooperation for the University in general and the Institute of International Training in particular. Learning from successful models abroad will enable the Institute to continuously improve its curriculum and teaching methods, ensuring that students not only gain solid theoretical knowledge but also confidently and quickly adapt to the global digital working environment upon graduation.
