VIBRANT ATMOSPHERE AT THE 2024-2025 ENGLISH FESTIVAL FOR UNIVERSITY CLUBS

In celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Students and the Vietnamese Students’ Association, and to foster a competitive spirit in improving English proficiency while building a “Global English Learning Community,” the Executive Board of the Thai Nguyen University (TNU) Students’ Association organized the English Festival 2024. The event, held on January 4, 2025, at the TNU Convention Center, also aimed to support students in meeting English exit requirements.

The program was honored by the presence of distinguished guests:

• Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Van – Vice President of Thai Nguyen University.

• Ms. Nguyen Thi Vinh – Chairwoman of Thai Hung Commercial Joint Stock Company and CEO of EcoValley Vietnam Education and Training JSC.

• Ms. Ma Thi Ut Sinh & Ms. Nguyen Hong Nga – Deputy General Directors of EcoValley Vietnam.

• Representatives from Ames English Thai Nguyen.

• Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hien – Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and President of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Students’ Association.

• Mr. Le Van Hieu – Secretary of the TNU Youth Union and President of the TNU Students’ Association.

The festival also welcomed representatives from central and local media agencies, various Youth Union and Student Association branches, and over 1,000 TNU students.

The competition featured two main segments: Individual & Team Video Clips and a Stage Performance competition, with participation from eight English clubs representing: the School of Foreign Languages, International School, University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU), University of Economics and Business Administration, University of Science, University of Education, University of Technology, and University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

After an intense and exciting competition, the final results were announced:

1. Individual Video Clip Category

• First Prize: Luong Nguyet Hang (University of Education).

• Most Popular Candidate (Facebook Vote): Tran Xuan Diep (University of Medicine and Pharmacy).

2. Team Video Clip Category

• First Prize: School of Foreign Languages.

• Most Popular Team: University of Economics and Business Administration.

3. Stage Performance Category

• First Prize: International School – TNU.

• Second Prize: University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

• Third Prize: University of Technology and School of Foreign Languages.

• Consolation Prizes: University of Economics and Business Administration, University of Education, University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU), and University of Science.

The festival concluded on a high note, leaving a lasting impression and providing a high-quality academic playground for students at Thai Nguyen University to sharpen their English skills.
