Korean Professors Visit Vietnam: A Journey of International Knowledge
At the International Institute of Training of ICTU
In the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, the International Training Institute (IIT) under the University of Information and Communication Technology (ICTU) invited two experienced professors from Kyungpook National University, South Korea – a leading hub for technology education in Asia – to teach several modules to the Institute’s students. This is not just regular teaching and learning but also a significant step forward in ICTU’s journey of connecting global knowledge.
International Study Programs: Doors to the World
The International Training Institute (IIT) is gradually asserting its position in managing and developing two promising programs: the International Joint Program in Software Engineering (in collaboration with Kyungpook National University) and International Information Technology (taught in English). These programs are designed to equip students not only with solid professional knowledge but also with the ability to compete in the global labor market. The collaboration with Kyungpook – a university renowned for its extensive research and technology application – has opened opportunities for ICTU students to access advanced education right in their home country.
During the second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, IIT marked a memorable milestone by inviting two professors with many years of experience in the field of Information Technology from South Korea to teach directly. Their presence not only brings high-quality lessons but also strongly inspires the younger generation passionate about technology.
Professor Young Woo Kwon: In Charge of Teaching Operating Systems and Software Interface Design
Professor Young Woo Kwon has taken on two important modules: “Operating Systems” for the Software Engineering K22 KNU class and “Software Interface Design” for the Information Technology K22B QT class. With a lively teaching style and a deep understanding of modern technology, Professor Kwon not only conveys knowledge but also sparks a passion for creativity in each student.
“The operating system is the heart of every technological device, and the interface is the face of the software. I hope you students will not only learn how to operate but also create beautiful and intelligent products,” Professor Kwon shared during his first meeting with students. His lectures promise to be a bridge bringing young people closer to the technological trends that are changing the world.
Professor Dong Kyun Kim: In Charge of the Network Programming Module
Meanwhile, Professor Dong Kyun Kim – an expert with extensive research in the field of computer networks – has brought a breath of fresh air to the Software Engineering K21 KNU class with the “Network Programming” module. With his rich experience and pioneering research at Kyungpook National University, Professor Kim not only teaches students how to write code but also guides them on how to build secure and efficient network systems – an indispensable skill in the digital connectivity era.
“Network programming is the art of connecting everything. I want you not only to understand the theory but also to know how to apply it to solve real-world problems,” Professor Kim emphasized. His classes quickly became a focal point, attracting enthusiasm from students eager to conquer the high-tech field.
Wide Open Road: A Stepping Stone for the Future
The event of two Korean professors coming to teach at ICTU is not just a simple academic exchange activity but also a testament to the International Training Institute’s commitment to improving the quality of education. This is an opportunity for students to access advanced teaching methods, learn from leading experts, and prepare a solid foundation for their careers in an international environment.
The Journey Continues
The second semester of the 2024-2025 academic year is gradually coming to an end, but the lectures of Professor Young Woo Kwon and Professor Dong Kyun Kim will surely leave unforgettable impressions. This is not just a story about education but also a journey connecting knowledge, culture, and dreams between Vietnam and South Korea. Let’s look forward to the achievements that IIT-ICTU students will attain in the near future, as they carry within them the flame of knowledge ignited by these wonderful teachers!
